Guns Texas Thumbs Down

They will not answer questions – Vote them out.

In the wake of the shooting at Robb Elementary in Uvalde Texas, US Congressman Tony Gonzales was invited to the KENS 5 new stations in San Antonio Texas to discuss the recent visit by the President and discuss the recent shooting.

Mr. Gonzales spoke on the recent shooting and mentioned how the conversation with the White House began soon after the shooting to discuss potential actions and plan a visit by the President and the First Lady. Mr. Gonzales mentioned that the president specifically was there to visit the families and had no intentions of making this a political event and I believe that is what happened.

One of the hosts mentioned that Mr. Gonzales has posted on social media that he had voted down two “gun control” measures in the past and that he stated he would do all he could to oppose “gun grabs” from the left.

The host asked where Mr. Gonzales stood on two measures that are being discussed for the upcoming special session.

  1. Gun buyers must be 21
  2. Red Flag Laws.

In the United States, a red flag law is a gun control law that permits police or family members to petition a state court to order the temporary removal of firearms from a person who may present a danger to others or themselves.
A judge makes the determination to issue the order based on statements and actions made by the gun owner in question Refusal to comply with the order is punishable as a criminal offense.
After a set time, the guns are returned to the person from whom they were seized unless another court hearing extends the period of confiscation

As of 2021, 19 states and the District of Columbia have enacted a red-flag law.

While I disagree that these should be the first actions taken, they are at least a start. Mr. Gonzales took the typical politician step of not answering the questions but answering the questions he wished the host had asked.

His answer to those two simple questions was to talk about what he had done. Looking for 25 million for a mental health hospital, 13.5 million for a radio system that will tie all emergency responders onto one system, and another emergency center for Uvalde, a city of 15000 people.

Here is a link to who donates to Tony. I see energy, New York
Finance, and prescription meds with a first look. Take a look at this link, do you see weapon companies, how about mental health companies. Those seem to be his priorities.

In November 2022 Vote Tony Out. I give Tony Gonzales a thumbs-down for not answering questions. We should expect our elected officials to answer questions from the media and the public.

Here is the video, the question starts at 1:44. Watch for yourself and let me know what you think.

Gun Deaths in America

Gun deaths continue to be a part of nearly every news cycle. Whether that is the morning news, the afternoon news, or the evening news. It never stops being a part of the news cycle. Of course, you would think this would be brought up in the federal and national capitols but there continues to be no action. In Florida, the governor is trying to pass what they are currently calling “Constitutional Carry”. So far this year four states — Alabama, Ohio, Indiana, and Georgia — have passed constitutional carry or permitless carry laws, making them the 22nd, 23rd, 24th, and 25th states to do so.

What is Constitutional Carry? In the simplest terms, constitutional carry is the right to bear arms, concealed or not, without any restrictions from the government. There are other terms for this policy, including permitless carry, and unrestricted carry. So, no background checks, not checking for any previous convictions, not checking of any kind.

Who wants this? I am not sure. The only place it seems to have popularity is with elected Republicans to sell to their base.

Be sure to watch the news at the next opportunity. There will be more unwarranted shooting deaths and you better believe it will get worse with laws like this going through Republican-led statehouses.

Vote Blue in 2022.
